Dear Customers,

We may as well get the bad news out of the way first….we have very few Strawberries this season… Our field was hard hit by the freeze on May 18 when temps dipped to 25 degrees in the early morning. Despite our best efforts to provide frost protection, the crop was in full bloom and we lost not only the blossoms but the previously set fruit as well. We have been sending out a small team to scour the field every morning, they have been finishing sometime between 10am and noon, bringing back 10-20 quarts (normally we’d be picking hundreds of quarts a day right now). I’m afraid we can’t take any reservations for berries, and we won’t be open for PYO.

On to brighter topics …. The field crops are looking good: potatoes and sweetcorn, melons, and squash all in the ground.  Hoop house tomatoes & cukes are off to a strong start.

Market Garden is fully planted in carrots, salad greens, zuchinni, onions, and much more. Last fall’s garlic beds look tremendous, as usual, and we’ve got lots of scapes for sale, recipes attached!

Flower Garden has been fully planted and has been producing steady bouquets for the store since April thanks to a large fall planting of tulip bulbs and some fall plantings successfully overwintered in low tunnels. Customers are welcome to pick their own anytime.
